It’s Day 6 of the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament! (The 6th of 9 Quarterfinal games.) Here’s the full lineup for the JIT.
I am SO excited to see these iconic contestants, some of whom I GREW UP watching, back on the Jeopardy! stage!
Alex Jacob
All tonight’s contestants picked excellent colors to wear! I LOVE this lavender V-neck sweater, which Alex paired with a black shirt and tie.
Make sure you check out Alex’s daily trivia newsletter, School of Trivia! My brain can’t handle daily trivia, but I’ve heard great things from all my smart friends!
Alex’s ToC is on Pluto.tv - Season 32, Ep 7170, 7172, 7174, & 7175
Jennifer Quail
Bright pink is always a great choice on the Jeopardy set! I suspect Jennifer’s platform is boosted up pretty high since we can see her belt above the podium - one of her opponents must be tall!
Jennifer also had interesting earrings that you couldn’t see much on screen because of her hair!
Jennifer’s original run is on Pluto - Season 36, starting with Episode 8108. She had a great selection of jewel tones!
Brandon Blackwell
When I saw Brandon’s promo headshot on Twitter, my reaction was: “guys, I just changed my mind about hating quarter zips”
Is it casual? Yes, especially with the grey athletic shirt underneath. But the COLOR!! And it looks so soft. I kinda love it.
Brandon’s episodes don’t seem to be online anywhere, but I found this headshot from his Teen Tournament appearance. On The Chase he usually wears a dark suit and striped tie, with a lightning bolt pin.
Ken Jennings
Watch Sam Kavanaugh in tomorrow’s game - and order your “Jeopardy is a Sport” shirt now!
JeoparDAY is coming up and if you’re planning to take the Anytime Test, I have some resources for you!
Jeopardy has a Youtube Playlist with previous contestant tests from 2017-2020. I recently put some time into creating this spreadsheet to grade my answers and check my score while practicing with those videos. Feel free to make a copy and use it for yourself! There is a separate tab for each video test.
watch the test video with the spreadsheet side-by-side
type your answers into the spreadsheet
when you're done, unhide the answer column
check the boxes for correct answers
the sheet will calculate your score (35+ is widely rumored to be "passing")
Alex is the tall one. I noticed Jennifer’s riser was about a foot high and Brandon’s about half as high as hers. Hers might have been 9 inches but it was the highest I’ve ever noticed.
