Wow, I can’t believe it’s finally time for the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament! Today is Day 1 of 9 Quarterfinal games. Here’s the full lineup for the JIT.
I am SO excited to see these iconic contestants, some of whom I GREW UP watching, back on the Jeopardy! stage!
I’m posting occasionally on various social media (mostly Instagram right now), but this newsletter is the best place to find daily recaps, photos, and announcements.
Dan Pawson
Dan is wearing coordinating shades of blue in tonight’s outfit. I like that his jacket is a lighter navy color.
I didn’t have screenshots from Dan’s original run, but I did see one of his Battle of the Decades episodes on Pluto.tv where they showed a clip of a previous episode - so here are two outfits! (He hasn’t aged a day!)
Pam Mueller
Pam has always been one of my favorite Jeopardy contestants. I remember being in college and watching her win the college tournament in 2000, so I kind of feel like I grew up with her through the years.
She also put a lot of thought and preparation into picking her outfits for Jeopardy, even starting an #OOTJ hashtag (a Jeopardy twist on “outfit of the day”) for contestants to share details about their outfits during All-Stars.
Long story short, tonight’s French Connection dress is GORGEOUS. Pam always dresses impeccably, but this is next level.
Oh also her pic with Ken is one of the best I’ve seen!
For most of the JIT contestants, I don’t have many screenshots of their original run, but I pulled a few photos of Pam from Google. Look how cute she was in her college sweatshirt!
Andrew He
First, congratulations to Andrew on the new job description! I feel like his style has evolved, with a cozy cardigan fit for a cool dad. His hair is longer now too, it’s a good look for him!
A lot of the contestants had amazing & hilarious pictures with Ken for this tournament, but Andrew’s may be one of the funniest!
Andrew has played so many games of Jeopardy now, I’m not going to include every outfit… but here is a selection of outfits from his original run, 2022 ToC, and 2023 Masters episodes.
Ken Jennings
JeoparDAY is coming up and if you’re planning to take the Anytime Test, I have some resources for you!
Jeopardy has a Youtube Playlist with previous contestant tests from 2017-2020. I recently put some time into creating this spreadsheet to grade my answers and check my score while practicing with those videos. Feel free to make a copy and use it for yourself! There is a separate tab for each video test.
watch the test video with the spreadsheet side-by-side
type your answers into the spreadsheet
when you're done, unhide the answer column
check the boxes for correct answers
the sheet will calculate your score (35+ is widely rumored to be "passing")
I just released a new shirt, in collaboration with Jeopardy legend Sam Kavanaugh. If you agree that Jeopardy is a sport, get yours here!
