It’s Day 5 of the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament! (The 5th of 9 Quarterfinal games.) Here’s the full lineup for the JIT.
I am SO excited to see these iconic contestants, some of whom I GREW UP watching, back on the Jeopardy! stage!
MacKenzie Jones
When I heard that MacKenzie was returning, I immediately remembered her animal print wardrobe (especially the tiger (zebra?) striped sweater dress from her first episode), and I was excited to see what she would wear this time!
Thanks to a tip from MacKenzie herself, I was able to find her Skies Are Blue leopard print blazer on Poshmark.
I also LOVE her accessories! These glasses are such a cool shape. Her beaded earrings are from this artist, though I don’t see those specific ones listed on their Etsy. I think they may be these from an Instagram post last year.
MacKenzie cites Fran Drescher as The Nanny as her inspiration for this look (and her overall affinity for animal print.) Specifically, this episode where she plays Jeopardy!
Here are a few of MacKenzie’s outfits - animal print and otherwise - from her original run.
MacKenzie’s original 9-episode run is on Pluto.tv currently, starting with Episode 8161 (Season 36)
Arthur Chu
In his original episodes, Arthur usually wore a shirt and tie or shirt and jacket. Tonight he is wearing a light grey shirt and darker grey jacket.
One episode of Arthur’s original run (Episode 6781) and his ToC episodes (starting with Episode 6937), are currently on Pluto.tv.
David Madden
I always love a cozy cardigan! This one has a shawl collar.
One of David’s original episodes (Episode 4826) is currently on Pluto.tv.
Ken Jennings
This is the 3rd time Ken has worn this pink tie this season (I call the pattern “donuts” but I think it’s actual floral shapes.)
JeoparDAY is coming up and if you’re planning to take the Anytime Test, I have some resources for you!
Jeopardy has a Youtube Playlist with previous contestant tests from 2017-2020. I recently put some time into creating this spreadsheet to grade my answers and check my score while practicing with those videos. Feel free to make a copy and use it for yourself! There is a separate tab for each video test.
watch the test video with the spreadsheet side-by-side
type your answers into the spreadsheet
when you're done, unhide the answer column
check the boxes for correct answers
the sheet will calculate your score (35+ is widely rumored to be "passing")
I just released a new shirt, in collaboration with Jeopardy legend Sam Kavanaugh. If you agree that Jeopardy is a sport, get yours here!
