It’s Day 12 of the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament! (The last of three semifinal games.) Here’s the full lineup for the JIT.
Matt Jackson
This is a great tie, and pairs nicely with the navy blue shirt. The shades of red and blue are appropriately patriotic for a contestant from Washington, DC!
A plaid pattern like this (large, equally sized blocks in just a few colors) is usually a safe bet on Jeopardy! (same with wide, bold stripes!) Small, intricate, or too-many-colored plaids (or stripes) can be vetoed by the wardrobe department because of how they look on screen.
If you like this style of tie, you can search “buffalo plaid” or “buffalo check” — Tommy Hilfiger always has a range of colors in this pattern, including this one at Walmart.com that looks very similar to Matt’s.
P.S. LOVED Matt’s FJ #SkillsNotScores shoutout and explanation. It’s so important to remember that experiences have value, regardless of whether you win/succeed.
Sam Buttrey
Who doesn’t love Sam Buttrey? Sam is embracing his bon vivant status by not wearing ties for this tournament! Colorful, cozy sweaters only for our favorite man-about-town. This red sweater is a new addition to Sam’s Jeopardy wardrobe - he previously wore grey, navy blue, and the yellow one he wore in the quarterfinals.
Victoria Groce
Love this bright pink cardigan and shiny black silk blouse. Victoria also has stunning and carefully chosen accessories.
At first I thought she stole Sam Kavanaugh’s cedar sprig from yesterday, but this looks like a rosemary necklace. I’m not sure of the exact brand/source, but here is one I found for example. I love the symbolism of rosemary improving the mind and memory!
I had a feeling tonight’s glasses were, like her quarterfinal glasses, by Francis Klein. They look like the Sofia to me!
Ken Jennings
One of my favorite Ken outfits tonight, his Barbie pink combo! (Somebody asked me to talk about his hair every night too, but I rarely notice it until he cuts it. Looks like it’s getting long on top, I bet he gets a haircut after JIT.
Just listed a new mug in the shop!
JeoparDAY has passed, but if you’re planning to take the Anytime Test soon, I have some resources for you!
Jeopardy has a Youtube Playlist with previous contestant tests from 2017-2020. I recently put some time into creating this spreadsheet to grade my answers and check my score while practicing with those videos. Feel free to make a copy and use it for yourself! There is a separate tab for each video test.
watch the test video with the spreadsheet side-by-side
type your answers into the spreadsheet
when you're done, unhide the answer column
check the boxes for correct answers
the sheet will calculate your score (35+ is widely rumored to be "passing")
