Another week of Second Chance with nine more Season 37 contestants. (If you’re wondering what’s going on this season & where these contestants came from, I wrote a quick explainer last week.)
I’ll be continuing to publish all my full recaps right here on Substack, and maybe or maybe not posting on social media (links on my Linktree).
Elaine Filadelfo
Original Airdate: 6/18/21
Original Occupation: data researcher
Original Hometown: Washington, DC
Original Host: Savannah Guthrie
(Elaine is the only contestant in this year’s Second Chance to have had Savannah Guthrie as host.)
Elaine certainly knows how to rock a jewel tone! She wore maroon in her original appearance and a lovely green tonight. I like the neckline with a hybrid v-neck/high collar (I don’t know the term for this!) I hope her arms weren’t cold in the heavily air-conditioned studio!
Jilana Cotter
Original Airdate: 3/19/21
Original Occupation: data analyst
Original Hometown: originally from Madison, WI
Original Host: Katie Couric
(played previously under the name “Jilana Rose-Silverberg”)
The cut and color of this dress are SO beautiful! The addition of a black belt & black beaded necklace really pops against the pink dress. (Jilana, if you’re reading please let me know where the dress is from!)
If you are searching for a similar cross-front style, use the terms “surplice” or “faux wrap”
I’m actually not sure if this is a dress or shirt — I’m leaning toward dress, but the closest I could find matching the color was this top from Macy’s.
And here’s a similar black beaded necklace
Jilana also had a gorgeous blue outfit in her original appearance, I should have been recapping fashion back then!
Colin Beazley
Original Airdate: 4/29/21
Original Occupation: private investment professional
Original Hometown: West Palm Beach, FL
Original Host: Anderson Cooper
Colin upgraded his blue shirt outfit from his original appearance by wearing a similar blue shirt but with a suit this time!
Ken Jennings
Ken wore this tie twice before tonight, on 1/13/23 and 3/24/23. I would love to see this one up close in real life — it appears to be circles or flowers in reddish and greyish shades, but it also looks shiny which sometimes distorts colors on screen.
